Common Symptoms of Mobile Device Issues

When a mobile device is not working properly, it usually shows one or more of these symptoms. Recognizing them is the first step in troubleshooting.


1. Poor Battery Health

  • What it is: Over time, lithium-ion batteries lose their ability to hold a full charge.
  • Signs: Device runs out of power quickly, or battery percentage jumps unexpectedly.
  • Troubleshooting: Check battery stats in the OS, replace the battery if removable, or use a professional service if sealed.

2. Swollen Battery

  • What it is: A battery that expands due to internal chemical reactions.
  • Signs: Device case bulges, screen may lift or crack, or device may overheat.

3. Broken Screen
